We believe that Christians are to encounter Jesus daily, be a learned disciple of God's Word, and to go out into the world mobilizing others for Christ. Elm Street's Student Ministry is no different. We try to incorporate these ideas of encounter, disciple, and mobilize into all the programs, trips, and conversations that we have.
The logo is the ripple, because we don't want our students' faith to stop with them. We want students to develop a strong faith. We want our students to think generationally, "What are my grandkids going to believe?" With this in mind, our faith doesn't stop with us. We may be the first rock thrown into the pond, but we will live out our lives creating that ripple affect and showing everyone who Jesus is.
This program has been tailored for 6th - 8th grade students. JHM is geared towards every type of middle school student regardless of where they are in their walk with Jesus. We welcome students who have never given Jesus a chance and, also, the ones who have grown up in the church. Each Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., you can expect to play and fellowship in the gym through organized games, to hear Biblical teaching, and to have healthy discipleship through small groups.
If you want to to be a part of what we do, you are invited to join us every Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Cherry. If you would like more information about what we do, please contact the Church office, 618/395-8411 or email Mitchel, firstname.lastname@example.org.
This program has been designed for 9th - 12th grade students. The goal of HSM is to get students into the Word and to start owning their faith. We believe that high school is the time when we need to get serious about what we really believe. Each Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m., you can expect to hang out and fellowship with others at Cherry; to hear biblical teaching; and to have healthy discipleship through small groups.
